I promised pictures of my finished quilt. Most of the pieces came from fabric from my mom. I only had to buy a little of the material. I cut the fabric last fall and pieces it together over the winter. When my aunt asked about our current project in one of her challenges, I got motivated again to finish the quilt. This quilt was just a project to learn how to do certain things all by myself, and to give me something to do while my baby was napping. I didn't think it would ever be good enough to get a blue ribbon, but my aunt told me I should enter it. She had faith in me. Thanks. She told me I should name my quilt and put a label on the back. I named it "Ann of Green Gables" since that was the book I was listening to while quilting it.
I found the pattern in American Patchwork & Quilting February 2007 edition designed by Nancy Mahoney; she called hers Fine Lines.
This is my family quilt. It is a tradition to make a quilt for each new mother in our family. Each female relative embroiders a quilt block. I love this quilt because of the great memories and people it reminds me of.
These are the ribbons we got at the fair.The first blue one is for the group quilt, the second one is for my quilt, and the yellow one is my daughter's from the baby show.
