I Dream

I dream, I hope, I sew, I smile, and I believe.

I enjoy creating, sewing,

and challenging myself with new projects.

Some of my best products have been inspired

by cookie cutters.

I hope to sew beautiful and unique items

which will be treasured

in loving homes around the world.

I believe life is a not a rush to get everything done,

but to do things well.

I am amazed

at where Dreaming of Stitches has gone in just this past year.

I dream about where to take Dreaming of Stitches.

I smile when I reach a goal

I never thought I could achieve.

I studied biology, psychology, and insect genetics.

Yes, I am a lab geek.

I worked as a DNA analyst

connecting families through paternity and genealogical tests.

I dream about becoming a genetic counselor,

but that dream will wait until my kids are older and grown.

I love being a mom and believe

the most important things I can do in life are with my children.

I play Princesses and Dora more than I ever thought I would.

I sew late at night and during nap time.

I wonder if the baby will stay asleep long enough.

I smile when my girls wrap their arms around me.

I believe in a loving God

and that families can be together forever.

I watched Etsy's Success video on writing a new profile. I have never been very confident in my writing skills so if you have any thoughts on how to make this better, please let me know. If you don't like it at all, let me know that also. I just wanted to do something different than "I'm a stay at home mom and I like to sew...."

  1. It's wonderful! That is what I thought before I read your little disclosure. Then I analyzed it to see if I could be of help, in which I quickly corrected myself and went with my original impression. It is really wonderful! Of course it can be changed here and there, but so could every piece of art every created. If an artist doesn't step back and say, "It is good" then they would never have a finished product. Being the observer, I think it is wonderful! {Three times a charm? ;) } Great job!
